Horror Correspondence Course - Assignment One
After I had a great time doing the Kubert School Inking course using Batman I decided to take the Horror course to another level. I used my own horror comic idea that I plan to produce as the subject of each assignment. It was useful and very entertaining to say the least. Upon completing the course and then coloring each page I now have a five page ash can of my comic that will be great at conventions to showcase the comic. For assignment one the task was fairly simple. Draw your monster. So I not only drew my monster I made a four panel sequence that tells a snippet of my story. This character will not appear in the first issue of my future comic but instead is talked about. The culmination of all five of the assignment pages tell just enough to hopefully gain the curiosity of an audience.
Here is the pencil version...
I really enjoyed inking this page. Panel three gave me a great opportunity to experiment around with some shadowing effects and the large panel four had wonderful detail for my number one baddie.
The final colored version was a big learning experience which I enjoyed.
